Our Story

Cavasa began in a small kitchen in Chennai, during a lockdown that had put the world on pause. Harshaa, a graduate of the School of European Pastry, Mumbai, started making chocolates for friends and family — not as a business, but as a way to hold onto her craft. Word travelled fast, and what began as a handful of orders soon became something people actively sought out.

When marriage brought her to Ambur, a small town in Tamil Nadu with little market for European-style pastry, that momentum could easily have stalled. Instead, Harshaa rebuilt from scratch — learning what the local palate loved, refining her recipes, and turning an unfamiliar market into an opportunity. Cavasa was born right there, in Ambur, out of the decision to keep going rather than let go.

What started as one woman working alone has grown into a close-knit team of seven, each as committed to the craft as the day Cavasa began. Every bar, ganache, and dragée is still made by hand, in small batches, the same way it was in that first Chennai kitchen — just with a few more hands, and a lot more chocolate.

Today, from our home in Ambur, we ship chocolates across India and beyond — carrying a little of that small-town, handmade spirit into every gift box that leaves our door.
